Managing Avalanche Hazard for the Natural Resource Sector
Ryan Shelly is the owner of Summit Avalanche Consulting. He is a Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) Level 3 Applied Avalanche Risk Management Graduate, CAA Avalanche Professional, Member of the CAA Governance Committee and former president of the Vancouver Island Avalanche Centre. Summit Avalanche Consulting has worked in Northern Alberta and British Columbia Avalanche communities since 2010. Summit provides avalanche safety services including avalanche assessment services, forecasting services, avalanche explosives mitigation services (including helicopter deployment and hand charging), Av Tech site support to work crews and industrially focused avalanche training. Our avalanche hazard experience includes the management of several sections of the Coastal GasLink and TransMountain Projects. Summit also manages several avalanche programs for the mining sector across the province of British Columbia.
